
NCE MASTERCLASS: EDDIE HAMILTON, ACE
The NCE is proud to announce that on Sunday, September 24, film editor Eddie Hamilton, ACE will be the guest of honor at the 12th edition of the NCE Annual International Masterclass that takes place during the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht.
The entire masterclass will be in the English language.
Eddie Hamilton, ACE has an impressive body of work, including MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING PT. 1 / FALLOUT / ROGUE NATION (Christopher McQuarrie, 2023 / 2018 / 2015), KICK-ASS (Matthew Vaughn, 2010), KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE / THE SECRET SERVICE (Matthew Vaughn, 2017 & 2014) and TOP GUN: MAVERICK (Joseph Kosinski, 2022), for which he received the 2023 ACE Eddie Award and was nominated for both the Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Editing.
The British-born Hamilton has a long standing work relationship with directors Matthew Vaughn, (KICK-ASS, KINGSMAN and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) and Christopher McQuarrie (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE). Since he started working on MI: ROGUE NATION, he has worked more or less non-stop on films with Tom Cruise.
Based on various clips from Eddie Hamilton’s work, Peter Alderliesten, NCE will speak with him about his work as film editor, the highest echalons of cutting action films, and how his collaboration with directors, vfx departments, composers and sound designers helps him to create the best possible tension and thrill.

NB: Leading up to this masterclass, the Editing department of the Netherlands Film Academy will host two screenings of films cut by Eddie Hamilton, in their screening room at Markenplein 1 in Amsterdam.
