NCE MASTERCLASS: STEPHEN MIRRIONE, ACE
On Sunday, May 21, the NCE proudly hosted a special international masterclass with Stephen Mirrione, ACE.
Stephen engaged in a personal, inspiring and thorough conversation with Job ter Burg, ACE, NCE, talking about his role as an editor and about the choices he has made in both his editing work as well as in his career. Coming from California, Mirrione is the go-to editor for renowned and celebrated directors like Alejandro González Iñárritu, Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney.
The masterclass started out with Stephen speaking about his first feature film Swingers (Doug Liman, 1996), went along the successful Traffic, (Soderbergh, 2000), 21 Grams (Iñárritu, 2003) and Babel (Iñárritu, 2006) and worked its way to the more recent and cinematographically excelling films Birdman (2014) and The Revenant (2015), both directed by Iñárritu.
In a slightly hot but packed auditorium, Mirrione shared his methods and convictions that have proven him to be a very dedicated and involved co-creator of the most innovative and sensational cinema of the last ten years.
