sicario-poster-9The NCE’s Sixth Annual International Masterclass on Film Editing, on September 24, 2016, featured Oscar-nominated British film editor Joe Walker, ACE.

Originally a music composer, with a B.A. from the University of York, Joe Walker gained recognition as editor for artist/director Steve McQueen, for whom he cut Hunger (2008), Shame (2011) and 12 Years a Slave (2013). For the latter, he was nominated for an Academy Award. In 2010, Joe constructed the crowd-sourced film Life in a Day (Kevin Macdonald, 2011) out of 80,000 YouTube clips. Walker is currently working on the sequel to Blade Runner, directed by Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, for whom he earlier cut Sicario (2015) and Arrival (2016).
